The last job before the walkthrough

Post-construction and post-renovation cleaning

Post-construction cleaning removes what building work leaves behind: drywall dust in every crevice, adhesive residue, paint flecks, and manufacturer stickers on new fittings. It takes multiple passes, because fine dust settles again after the first one.

Drywall dust is the reason this job is priced and staffed differently from a deep clean. It is fine enough to hang in the air for hours, so cleaning top-down once is never enough — surfaces have to be done again after the air settles.

We work after the trades are finished and the debris has been removed. If skips, offcuts, and packaging are still on site, that is a clearance job and needs to happen before we can start.

What’s included

  • Multiple passes, working top-down and repeating after dust settles
  • Fine dust removed from every ledge, rail, and crevice
  • Manufacturer stickers removed from windows and appliances
  • Adhesive and tape residue removed from glass and trim
  • Paint flecks removed from floors, glass, and hardware
  • Inside all new cabinets and drawers
  • Vents, extractors, and light fittings cleared of dust
  • Floors vacuumed with a filtered machine, then mopped
  • Final detail pass on hardware, handles, and taps

What’s not

  • Debris, offcuts, and packaging removal
  • Anything involving lead paint or asbestos
  • Exterior work, scaffolding, or facade cleaning
  • Touch-up painting or filling

Common questions

Answers before you call.

When should post-construction cleaning happen?

After the trades have finished and debris has been removed, but before the final walkthrough or handover. Booking it while work continues wastes the clean, because the next day of work undoes it.

Why does it take more than one pass?

Drywall dust is fine enough to stay airborne for hours. Clean a surface while dust is still suspended and it lands again within the hour. We work top-down, let the air settle, and repeat.

Do you remove building debris?

No. Skips, offcuts, and packaging need to be cleared before we arrive. We handle dust and residue, not waste removal.

Can you clean a renovation in an occupied building?

Yes, and this is common in New York. Tell us the building type at quote stage so we can arrange the freight elevator window and any certificate of insurance the managing agent requires.
