Move-out and move-in cleaning
A move-out clean is done on an empty home and covers the inside of everything: cabinets, closets, drawers, the oven, and the fridge. It exists for one purpose, which is passing a landlord or agent inspection so the deposit comes back.
The job is different from a deep clean because the rooms are empty. That makes some things faster and others slower — there is nothing to work around, but every cupboard interior and closet shelf is now visible and in scope.
Book it after the movers have gone and before the walkthrough. If you are moving in rather than out, the same clean gives you a home nobody else has lived in, which most people want more than they expect to.

Will a move-out clean get my deposit back?
It removes cleanliness as a reason to withhold it. Deposits are also withheld for damage, unpaid rent, and items left behind, none of which cleaning addresses. Take dated photographs after we finish — that record is what settles disputes.
Should the home be empty before you arrive?
Yes, ideally completely. We can work around a few boxes, but anything still in a cupboard is something we cannot clean inside, and that is exactly where inspections look.
How late can I book one?
Same-week is usually possible outside peak season. Around the end of August in Chapel Hill and Carrboro the UNC lease cycle books us out well in advance, so give us as much notice as you can if you are moving then.
Do you clean the oven and fridge on a move-out?
Yes, both are included rather than add-ons, because they are the two things every inspection opens.
